Forest & oak honey is famous for its dark, almost black color, but also for its full-bodied taste. It is collected from the mountainous, Greek forests and is one high nutritional variety of honey. Being rich in antioxidants and minerals, also named by beekeepers as “meloura”, the oak honey springs from the honeydew tree collections and has a moderate to high viscosity and a mild sweet taste.
Oak honey has also a strong aroma and contains many enzymes. It is a rich source of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and sodium whilst its consumption offers dozens of benefits to the human body, as it boosts metabolism, supports stomach disorders, fights flu and fatigue, regulates the digestive system, helps to treat anemia and diabetes, offers antimicrobial action in the intestine and urinary system. And it has been also characterized as a useful sexual tonic ingredient.
