OUR PHILOSHOPHY
Picking honey from the pure ecosystems of Thassos Island
We are deeply dependent on the small, hardworking creatures that care so much about us. Bees are the most vital pollinators on Earth! Without little bees, our ecosystem will not be safe; biodiversity will be dramatically reduced.
Nearly 90% of wild flowering plants need the pollination procedure for successful reproduction. We all need to save the bees and apply only good beekeeping practices.
Our goal is to provide you with pure honey products, collected from the best flower varieties, enchanting forests, and natural resources. Holding delicious aroma and excellent texture, the honey varieties of Koutlis retain their high nutritional value intact and put on your table a touch of gastronomy.
Our Story
Fifty years ago, at Potamia village of Thassos island, my grandfather, Dimitris Koutlis, decided to combine his love for nature and his passion for honey, by creating an amateur beekeeping production.
Although he had only the fundamental knowledge needed, he managed to keep the quality of raw materials and to deliver a unique and genuine honey product; the very same taste that Koutlis’ products maintain nowadays.
A few years later, following our grandfather’s dream, my father Christos, took active action in the beekeeping tradition of our family.
Having new ideas, strong dedication, and a vision to invest further in beekeeping, he made the first steps to evolve honey production by using modern methods. Thus was created a standard beekeeping unit with high-tech specifications and emphasis on top-quality. We have increased our production but we have kept intact all those traits that make Koutlis honey so unique.
Combing excellent know-how, good beekeeping practices, and innovative styles but faithfully following the path of tradition at the same time, Christos Koutlis, created a genuine product under the brand name “Koutlis Honey”.
Present Day
Today, following in my forefather’s footsteps and having full confidence in the know-how achieved by three generations of beekeeping, I have decided to stamp my mark and to advance the product that is explicitly connected to my family, my place of origin, and my childhood.
Renewed, but without forgetting our roots which established our brand name, the production team of Koutlis beekeeping business successfully combines traditional beekeeping with modern export and standardization methods.
The new brand identity of Koutlis honey was created by visualizing the honeycomb, the purest raw material, in composition with three lines, one line for each generation of Koutlis beekeepers. We have kept our love for nature alive and we have cultivated our passion for honey.
Inspired by Greek tradition and facing the future we are committed to combining our expertise with our passion for qualitative honey products.
It is our desire that we deliver one of the most famous, high gastronomy Thassian honey to your table and to give you a unique tasting experience; an unforgettable honey flavor that we believe that you will fall in love for it.
