Propolis etymologically means “upon the city” from the composition of the Greek words “pro” and “polis” and it marks the meaning of defense and protection. The bee community uses the resinous substance of propolis to fortify the hives against external enemies and adverse weather conditions. Also, the intelligent bees use propolis as an antiseptic substance that disinfects the area of the hive where the bee brood, honey, and pollen will be housed.
The therapeutic value of propolis is impressive, and a center of interest for scientists worldwide, as it has been linked to the fight against cancer. Propolis is touted as a natural antibacterial treatment, with strong actions against viruses and fungi as well. Propolis also has anti-inflammatory health effects, eases skin diseases or traumas, treats gastrointestinal and gynecological disorders, and improves oral health.

In the Koutlis family, we are three generations of nomadic beekeepers — people who travel with their hives, following nature and its blooming seasons.

With traditional practices and modern equipment, we produce pure, high-quality honey, rich in flavor, aroma, and nutrients.

We have a Bee-centered approach and we upkeep healthy hives following environmental commitments and sustainability principles

Over the past 50 years, we have a pure passion for the craft of beekeeping; we have devoted ourselves to it. These days, the family handicraft has passed to the 3rd generation of beekeepers.
